Board Game Narrator
Hear your game's cards and rulebooks read aloud, with AI or device voices
Coming soon to Google Play
Board Game Narrator reads the texts of your tabletop games aloud on your tablet: cards, rulebook pages, gamebook entries and the text of companion apps. Listen with AI voices that give each character a voice of their own, or with your device's own voice, free and offline.
How the text gets in
- Rulebooks and gamebooks: open your PDFs, jump around with bookmarks and select any passage to hear it.
- Cards and pictures: photograph a card with your phone and send it to the tablet over your Wi-Fi, or select part of a picture.
- Companion apps (Pro): a floating button reads the part of your game's own app screen that you choose.
Two ways to narrate
- AI narration: gives each character a voice and a tone, and can translate the text into 18 languages as it reads. It needs an internet connection and your own Google Gemini API key.
- Device voice: your device's built-in text-to-speech voice reads the text. No key, no account, and it works offline once a voice is installed on the device.
Set the mood
- Background music by mood: tavern, forest, dungeon, battle, horror and more.
- Pro: music that follows the story, 20 ambience layers and 38 sound effects.
Pro is a one-time purchase, no subscription. Made for tablets. Not affiliated with any game publisher: use your own copies of your games.
Free demo adventure: The Heron's Road
The Heron's Road is a free gamebook adventure made for the app. Its two books are free to download, print and share.
